Got a question about Fredon?
Answers to the most common questions. If yours isn't here, email us at contact@fredon.app: we reply fast.
Fredon can't hear me
Make sure microphone access is allowed: iPhone Settings, then Fredon, then Microphone. In the app, the button at the top right of Live should read "MIC ON". If you sing softly, turn up the mic sensitivity in Fredon's settings.
The note shown is wrong
Hold the note for half a second, without heavy vibrato, about a foot (30 cm) from the phone. Too close and the mic distorts; a noisy room muddies the reading. Whistling is often the easiest to pick up.
My strummed chord isn't recognized
Strum all the strings of the chord firmly and let them ring. Fredon needs to hear at least three different notes, and the same chord twice in a row, before it shows it. A muted or poorly fretted string can make it read a different chord: that's exactly what the chord check points out.
Tuning my instrument
Tap the tuning fork at the top of Live, then pluck an open string: Fredon finds which one it is, lights it up on the headstock and tells you whether to tune up or down. For a different tuning, pick it in "Instrument & tuning".
The free first day and subscriptions
On day one, all of Fredon is unlocked, no strings attached. After that, Fredon Plus gives you the whole app: a monthly or yearly subscription with a 3-day free trial, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
Managing or canceling my subscription
In Fredon: Settings, then "Manage subscription". Or in iPhone Settings: your name, then Subscriptions, then Fredon.
I got a new phone
In Fredon, open Settings, then "Restore purchases", using the same Apple ID you bought with. Your subscription or lifetime purchase comes right back.
